This book "Meant to Be" portrays how I dealt with my dark past and childhood that haunted me for over thirty years. I stuffed away the memories pretending it didn't happen, but it did. In my twenties I fell into a life of partying and abusive relationships. My life was spiraling out of control. I surrendered my life to God and he pulled me out of the ruins. I am an overcomer. Today I claim victory and live my life happily.
God called me to write my story to reach someone. I don't know who he wants to reach but this book has been sold all over the world.
Almost anyone can relate to this book. I not only talk about the tough times I went through but also tales of many adventures living in Hawaii for twenty years.

Becka Jones impressed me when she knew at a young age that she wanted to be an author. She had folders full of stories, and while she was still in school, she was offered a publishing deal for a book, only to have it pulled out from under her. Her dad was not in her life during her childhood, and I wept as I felt her pain because my dad is an alcoholic. Even though he is in my life, he is not home very often. Have you ever felt unloved? Becka struggles with this, too, and moves all the way to Hawaii to be with her boyfriend. In fact, just like me, she has had several boyfriends over the years, trying to find ‘the one,’ which bogs the story down a little. Does she make the same mistake I did and marry the wrong one, or does she walk through the door God opens where she can find the unconditional love she so strongly craves? My favorite parts of the book are where Becka interacts with those less fortunate than her. She willingly shared what she had with others, which brought me to tears many times because I saw God using Becka in mighty ways. For this, she will receive many rewards in heaven. Incredible, exciting testimony of true life experiences of an awesome woman of God. Very easy to read and the author keeps your attention with vivid details, like you are there. Vivid details of exciting adventures living in Hawaii and trusting God with major life decisions and small ones too. This book could and should easily be made into a movie! Being filmed on location from Minnesota to Hawaii would make it a very popular film to see. I think a great name for this film should be, "Ocean Butterfly." Reading “Meant to Be” took me on a journey of crazy adventures. Some were done with such wild abandon that I found myself actually holding my breath at times!! The abuse she was subjected to was difficult to imagine. And still she would find the strength to come back from it. God definitely had His gracious hand on her! My most favorite part was the chapter about “her” dolphins! It had me mesmerized! Her best adventure began after she completely turned her life over to God! Becka's ability to articulate her testimony in a way that we feel like we are sitting across from her is so touching and real, it changes lives.
